On April 2, 2014, Wilneka S. Pennyman, age 19, was killed in a drive-by shooting in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. outside a residence in the 100 block of Northeast 63rd Street. Pennyman was shot while attempting to flee, collapsing nearby. She was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries. The man who was with her was shot and killed at the scene while seated in a car.
