On the night of March 8, 1965, 38-year-old Hispanic woman Sylvia Valdez was murdered in Miami, Florida, in a case that would later be linked to a string of unsolved killings attributed to the so-called "Miami Strangler." Sylvia Valdez had left her workplace around 9:00 p.m. and walked to the parking lot where her car was parked. Upon discovering a flat tire, she waited for assistance.
