On June 24, 2014, Nakeri Jackson, age 26, was one of two individuals killed during a mass shooting in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, where gunmen opened fire on a crowd, also wounding seven others. Police responded to reports of gunshots around 2:15 a.m., and Jackson was pronounced dead at Jackson Memorial Hospital shortly after.
