In the late winter of 2023, the lives of two families and a community were irrevocably altered by the disappearance and death of 39-year-old Jason Salter and his close friend and business partner, Kenny Guerra. The two men, both fathers and co-owners of the Rockstar Lifestyle Print Shop, were last seen in East Point on February 25, 2023. Concern mounted when Salter failed to return home and calls to his phone went unanswered, prompting his brother to report him missing the following day. The search for the missing businessmen took a grim turn on March 11, 2023, when two sets of human remains were discovered on an 8,000-acre farm in Chattahoochee Hills, near the Chattahoochee River. Due to the condition of the bodies, a lengthy identification process followed. After a 51-day period of agonizing uncertainty for his family, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed on April 15, 2023, using dental records, that one of the victims was Jason Salter. Shortly after, the second set of remains was identified as 35-year-old Kenny Guerra. The discovery brought an end to the search for the men but marked the beginning of a homicide investigation led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation into the deaths of Salter and Guerra revealed the brutal nature of their final moments. According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, both men had been shot multiple times and their bodies were burned. In the wake of their disappearance, the vehicles of both men were found in separate locations; Salter's Nissan Altima was located in a Family Dollar parking lot, and Guerra's BMW was discovered at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta.
As of early 2024, no arrests have been made in connection to the double homicide, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects.
