On May 7, 2023, 23-year-old Dantavious Gutherie was fatally shot in Atlanta's Grove Park neighborhood. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at a residence on Francis Place NW, near the Grove Park Recreation Center and YMCA. Upon arrival, Atlanta Police Department officers found Gutherie and another man, both in their twenties, with gunshot wounds; they were transported to Grady Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
