In a tragic turn of events that highlights the grim consequences of carelessness with firearms, 25-year-old Zachery Shane Morris lost his life in what has been described as an accidental shooting. The incident occurred in Macon, Georgia, where Morris resided with his roommate and close friend, 19-year-old De'Vante Ross.
On a Thursday, a distress call was placed by Ross himself, reporting that he had unintentionally shot his roommate.
The scene of the fatal event was a residence at the Bakers Acres Mobile Home Park. According to reports, Ross had been 'playing' with a firearm when it discharged, striking Morris. Emergency medical services and rescue personnel were dispatched to the home and attempted to render aid to Morris, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died at the scene.
