On July 15, 2023, Ronald Jeffers, a 66-year-old resident of Hampton, Georgia, was tragically killed in a mass shooting that occurred in the Dogwood Lakes neighborhood where he lived. The shooting, which took place over a span of just 10 minutes, claimed the lives of four people, including Jeffers, Scott Leavitt (67), his wife Shirley Leavitt (66), and Steve Blizzard (65).
