The disappearance of Imani Roberson, a 29-year-old mother of four, from Rockdale County, Georgia, ended in tragedy after her body was discovered, leading to the arrest of her husband. Roberson was last seen on July 16, 2023, after having dinner with her mother in Conyers. She left her mother's house with her two youngest children, a one-month-old and a three-year-old, to return to her home. Concern grew when she could not be reached, which her mother said was highly uncharacteristic.
The search for Roberson intensified, and her car was later found burned.
Nearly three weeks after she was reported missing, her body was found by a cadaver dog. The investigation quickly pointed toward foul play, and suspicion fell upon her husband, Donell Anderson. Investigators determined that after leaving her mother's home, Roberson and her children were all at her home with her husband. Evidence suggests that a violent altercation took place at their residence. After the murder, Anderson is believed to have taken Roberson's body to a different location with the help of his brother.
Following the discovery of Roberson's body, her husband, Donell Anderson, was arrested and charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The arrest took place after a brief standoff with a SWAT team at an apartment on Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta. A second arrest was made in connection with the case; Anderson's brother was charged with tampering with evidence, concealment of a dead body, and arson. During a press conference, Imani Roberson's grieving father revealed that this was the third child he had lost.
