On July 18, 2023, at approximately 9:33 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at the Baymont Inn & Suites located at 3680 Riverside Drive in Macon, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim, later identified as 25-year-old Donchevelle Gerald Boddie, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Boddie was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff at 10:12 p.m..
