Khia "Kardii K" Shields, a 19-year-old from Wrens, Georgia, died on August 26, 2023. At the time of her death, she was asleep on a sofa in her mother's home when a gunshot came through the wall and struck her.
The incident led to an investigation by the Jefferson County deputies. After a thorough investigation, a 31-year-old man from Georgia was arrested and charged with her murder. The arrest was made in late October 2024, nearly a year after Khia's death.
