On August 26, 2023, at approximately 11:09 a.m., Columbus Police officers responded to reports of a person down in the 2900 block of Colorado Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Delarance Jones, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced Jones deceased at the scene.
