In the early evening of a Wednesday in Valdosta, Georgia, the life of 18-year-old Marcus Antwain Crawford Jr. was tragically cut short. On September 13, 2023, around 7:17 p.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the air in the Hudson Dockett area along South Fry Street. Concerned citizens who heard the shots and saw a figure lying on the ground quickly dialed 911 to report the incident.
When officers from the Valdosta Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Marcus unresponsive, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. On Thursday, September 14, 2023, Jeremiah Marquis Ke Shawn Pritchett-Rudolph was located in the 1400 block of North St. Augustine Road and taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
