Sixteen-year-old Jaykavion Gary, a male from Valdosta, was shot shortly after midnight on July 5, 2025, in the 1900 block of Baytree Place in Remerton, a small city surrounded by Valdosta. Officers responded around 12:30 a.m., and the teenager was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he died.
