On December 4, 2023, Omarion Whitfield, a 20-year-old resident of Savannah, Georgia, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred at the intersection of Amaranth and Perth Street, where Savannah Police Department officers responded to a Shotspotter report around 6:20 p.m. and found Whitfield and another victim, 16-year-old Semaj Floyd, deceased.
