On December 11, 2023, Jeremiah Griffin, a 32-year-old resident of Augusta, Georgia, was fatally shot at Smart Grocery, a convenience store located in the 2200 block of Wrightsboro Road in Augusta.
The incident occurred on a Monday night when Richmond County deputies responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:50 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Griffin dead from at least one gunshot wound. The coroner's office pronounced him dead at 9:30 p.m..
