On February 11, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Thomson, Georgia, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Otekqueonna Williams. The incident took place early Sunday morning on McCommons Street in Thomson.

Otekqueonna Williams was identified as the victim who succumbed to her injuries. She was taken to Piedmont McDuffie Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:33 a.m..
