In the quiet town of Thomson, Georgia, a tragedy unfolded on a Sunday morning in September 2018, forever altering the lives of a local family. On September 23, deputies from the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Red Haven Drive around 5:40 a.m. following a report of a person being shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of 62-year-old Cynthia Cason in her yard.
