On February 25, 2024, Javare Shakir-Fulford, a 21-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, was fatally shot near a RaceTrac gas station located at 120 Piedmont Avenue N.E. in Downtown Atlanta. The incident occurred at approximately 12:41 p.m., and when the Atlanta Police Department responded, they found Shakir-Fulford with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
