In the early morning hours of a Monday in August 16, 2020, tragedy struck in southeast Atlanta when 41-year-old Aaron Ansah was found with two life-threatening gunshot wounds to his chest. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Lakewood Avenue, near the Quick Pick Food Mart. First responders arrived at the scene and immediately began life-saving efforts before rushing him to a nearby hospital.
Despite their attempts, Ansah was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
At the time of the incident, Aaron Ansah was a resident of Livermore Street in Atlanta. An obituary described him as a man who would be remembered for his love of cooking and fixing things, and his caring spirit. It also mentioned that he had worked in construction for JE Dunn for over a decade. He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School, class of 1997. He was a father to five children and a grandfather to four.
Atlanta police opened an investigation into the shooting death of Aaron Ansah. Initial reports indicated that the investigation was ongoing as authorities worked to identify the person or persons responsible for the fatal shooting.
