In the summer of 2024, on the morning of Saturday, July 13th, the life of 31-year-old Demarious Shamonte Brown was tragically cut short in his Macon, Georgia apartment. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Grey Parc apartments located on Gray Highway at approximately 9:51 a.m. following a 911 call reporting a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Brown inside his apartment, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The Chief Deputy Coroner pronounced him deceased at the scene.
According to Brown's girlfriend, who was present during the incident, an argument erupted at the apartment door just before the fatal shot was fired. She reported hearing the dispute but did not recognize the voice of the individual at the door. Investigators are actively working to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter.
In an effort to identify the person responsible, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office has released footage from a doorbell camera. The video shows a man, considered a suspect in the homicide, entering Brown's apartment around 9:40 p.m. and leaving approximately seven minutes later. The authorities have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying this individual.
Demarious 'Mario' Brown, as he was known to loved ones, was a father to a son, Demarious Shamonte Brown, Jr. He was a 2009 graduate of Northeast High School and had pursued further education at Central Georgia Technical College, majoring in Aircraft Sheet Metal. He was also an aspiring entrepreneur, having started his own clothing line called Well Connected. In the wake of his death, his family is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in his case. The investigation into his murder remains ongoing.
