On July 27, 2024, a double shooting incident occurred in Americus, Georgia, resulting in the death of Deandre Raashod Jones, a 28-year-old resident of Hanson Drive in Americus. The incident was reported at approximately 3:23 AM, with officers from the Americus Police Department responding to the area of Bessie Mays Circle and Norman Cole Drive.
