On July 30, 2024, at approximately 7:35 p.m., officers from the Manchester Police Department responded to a reported shooting at a residence on West Main Street in Manchester, Georgia. Upon arrival, they discovered that 26-year-old Jaquavious Malik Carter, affectionately known as "Mookie," had sustained a gunshot wound inflicted by his brother during a domestic dispute. Carter was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
