On August 24, 2024, Joshua Pedro Pelico-Pelico, a 19-year-old resident of Dalton, Georgia, was one of the four victims in a quadruple murder that occurred at Pleasant Grove Park in Dalton.

The incident began around midnight when Whitfield County deputies responded to reports of gunshots at the park.
