In an act of protection that tragically cost him his life, Tavarus Joiner, a 32-year-old male, was shot and killed in his Villa Rica, Georgia, home. The incident unfolded when Joiner provided a safe haven for his cousin, who was attempting to escape a dangerous and abusive relationship.
