Marciano Kirkland, a 35-year-old Black man, was killed on November 12, 2024, inside a home on the 1400 block of Hephzibah-McBean Road in Hephzibah, Georgia, in what investigators treated as a homicide. Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office were sent to the residence just after 3 p.m. on a reported shooting, and when they arrived they found Kirkland inside the home with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene later that afternoon, and the case quickly shifted ...
