On August 21, 2022, 48-year-old Samuel DeWayne Jackson, an African American male from Hephzibah, GA, was tragically killed following an altercation outside a Circle K gas station on Tobacco Road. The incident began with an argument between Jackson and 61-year-old Donald Lenell Gross, a white male with a history of bipolar disorder and mental illness.
