In the pre-dawn hours of Friday, February 10, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in Southeast Washington, D.C., that ended the life of Thomas Goodman, a 42-year-old Black male. At approximately 2:57 a.m., officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 1700 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast, following a report of a shooting. The normally quiet street became a scene of urgency and concern as law enforcement arrived.
