In the late morning of May 3, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in the 3700 block of Jamison Street, Northeast, in Washington, D.C. Twenty-three-year-old Kaijah Lamon McCoy, a Black female, was shot and killed in what would become a homicide investigation that drew the attention of the Metropolitan Police Department.
