On June 6, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the 4700 block of South Capitol Street, Southeast, in Washington, D.C. At approximately 6:37 pm, Seventh District officers responded to the area after hearing the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim who had been shot. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the victim showed no signs consistent with life and was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
