On a late morning in Washington, D.C., 22-year-old Samya Gill, a pregnant woman from Fort Washington, Maryland, was fatally shot in what police have described as a targeted attack. The tragic event unfolded on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in the 300 block of 37th Street SE. Gill was sitting in a parked car with a male companion when two individuals armed with rifles approached the vehicle and opened fire.
