On Friday, December 15, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the 600 block of Hamlin Street, Northeast, Washington, D.C. At approximately 3:15 a.m., 37-year-old Marcus Vines was shot and killed. When Fifth District officers responded to the location for a report of an unconscious person, they found Mr. Vines with gunshot wound injuries. Despite the efforts of the responding officers, Marcus Vines died at the scene.
