On the evening of Valentine's Day, Wednesday, February 14, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in Northeast Washington, D.C., leaving a young man dead and two others fighting for their lives. The deceased was identified as 26-year-old Malon Nurse of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The shooting occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Capitol Street, an area that suddenly transformed into a scene of violence and tragedy.
