Do you know who murdered James Thorpe?
On September 18, 1982, James Thorpe, aged 64, was shot and killed while on duty as the manager of Ferguson's Sunoco gas station located at 115 Riggs Road, NE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. when two men entered the gas station and opened fire, fatally wounding Thorpe. Following the shooting, the suspects stole money from the gas station and fled the scene on foot, running north along 1st Street.
