On March 19, 2024, a homicide occurred in the 5000 block of C Street, SE, in Washington, D.C., resulting in the death of 25-year-old Rasheem Bankins.

At approximately 4:22 pm, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found two men with gunshot wounds.
