In the early evening of August 7, 2020, Rashad Scott, a 30-year-old Black man from Washington, D.C., was fatally shot in the Le Droit Park neighborhood of Northwest Washington. The incident occurred at approximately 6:18 p.m. in the 1900 block of 6th Street, NW. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District arrived at the scene, they discovered Scott suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
