In the summer of 2026, concern grew in Sevierville, Tennessee, for 17-year-old Benjamin Jeffries. On Thursday, July 16, 2026, he was picked up by a family member in a gray Toyota Corolla with Tennessee license plate 577BLZD. The plan was for a brief trip, with his return expected on the following Sunday, July 19. However, this departure would be the last time his family saw him for a period of time, sparking worry and a search for the young man.
As the weekend passed and Sunday came and went, there was no sign of Benjamin. His family had not heard from him since he left, which was out of character and caused increasing alarm. All attempts to contact him proved futile, as calls to his cell phone went straight to voicemail. At the time of his disappearance, he was known to be wearing khaki pants, a black hoodie adorned with hearts on the sleeve, and black boots. He is also noted to wear glasses. The Sevierville Police Department was notified and began an investigation into his disappearance, seeking information from the public to help locate him.
In a positive turn of events, the Sevierville Police Department later reported that Benjamin Jeffries had been found alive. While this news brought considerable relief to his family and the community, official reports have remained vague regarding the specific details of his recovery, including the exact date and the circumstances surrounding his return. The case, which began with a planned short family visit, evolved into a distressing missing person investigation when communication ceased and he failed to return as scheduled. The conclusion of the search with his safe location brought an end to the uncertainty for his loved ones.
