In the early morning hours of June 12, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the Navy Yard neighborhood in Southeast, D.C. When police responded to the Unit block of K Street for reports of gunshots around 2:26 a.m., they found evidence of a shooting but no victim. A short time later, a man suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, 31-year-old Michael Sebastian succumbed to his injuries.
