On a late summer evening in Washington, D.C., violence shattered the quiet of a residential neighborhood, leaving a community in mourning. On Friday, September 6, 2024, 33-year-old Tanisha Morris was fatally shot inside a residence on the 1000 block of Spring Road, Northwest. The incident, which also left a man critically injured, is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department as a homicide.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 10:33 p.m.
following the sound of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ms. Morris and a male victim, both of whom had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, Ms. Morris was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
In the wake of the shooting, authorities have been actively seeking information from the public to help identify the individual responsible for this senseless act. Investigators are searching for a male suspect who is described as having tattoos on his face. While the investigation is ongoing, a reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the death of Tanisha Morris. At this time, no arrests have been announced in connection with the case.
