On June 5, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in northeast Miami-Dade, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Henry Pericles. The incident was linked to a botched drug deal involving two suspects, Eymon Manuel Leatherwood, 20, of Miami Gardens, and Gemika Dubuisson, 19, of Miramar.
