On August 8, 2023, 29-year-old Delvin Long of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was involved in a tragic incident that led to his untimely death. Early that morning, Fort Lauderdale Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1500 block of NW 3rd Court, where they found evidence of a shooting. Shortly thereafter, a car crash occurred at the intersection of Broward Boulevard and NW 7th Avenue.
