Kimonie Williams, a 32-year-old woman, was fatally shot on October 10, 2023, in Miami Gardens, Florida. The incident occurred outside her home near the intersection of Miami Gardens Drive and Northwest 34th Court.
Witnesses reported that the suspect, identified as Delroy Mohammed, yelled at and physically assaulted Kimonie before shooting her around 9:45 p.m. Kimonie's father, Dave Williams, heard the gunshots and found his daughter gasping for air when he ran outside.
Despite his immediate response, Kimonie had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel.
Delroy Mohammed, who is the father of three of Kimonie's four children, had recently been in a relationship with Kimonie. According to her father, Kimonie had broken up with Mohammed, and he was unable to accept the end of their relationship. Following the shooting, Mohammed fled the scene but later turned himself in to the Margate police. He has since been transported to jail and is facing a second-degree murder charge.
Kimonie was described by her father as a "good girl" and a "very kind-hearted person." Her death has left her family and community in shock and grief.
