Kevin Berry, a 58-year-old man from Davenport, Florida, was fatally shot in a road rage incident on October 15, 2023. The incident occurred early Sunday morning near the intersection of Interstate 4 and Highway 27. Berry was on his way to work from Altamonte Springs when the altercation took place.
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, the suspect responsible for Berry's death is Daniele Hamilton, a 58-year-old individual with an extensive criminal history.
Hamilton has had multiple felony and misdemeanor arrests, including charges for drug offenses, fighting, and robbery. During the road rage incident, Hamilton pulled out a gun and shot Berry, who was outside his truck and unarmed at the time.
Security cameras captured the altercation and the vehicles involved. Hamilton was arrested at his home after deputies found his gun and three empty casings. When apprehended, Hamilton reportedly stated, "Well, you got what you need. I'm ready to go to jail."
