In the summer of 2021, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Lorenzo Davyne Omartez Capers, a 22-year-old African American man from the Atlanta, Georgia area. On the evening of August 5, 2021, Capers was gunned down in what has been described as a targeted shooting. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Forrest Park Road. Investigators believe that Capers was walking in the area when he became engaged in a brief verbal altercation with another man, which tragically escalated to
gunfire.
Lorenzo was a devoted father to his one-year-old son and was eagerly anticipating the birth of his second child. Remembered by his family and friends as a loving and supportive big brother and a cherished son, his death left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.
