On January 1, 2023, a shooting incident occurred on Route 15 in Hamden, Connecticut, resulting in the deaths of two men and injuries to another. Qualon Wilkes, a 22-year-old from Bridgeport, was among those involved in the shooting. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital in critical condition after the incident, which happened around 2:23 a.m. near exit 60 on Route 15.
