A promising life was tragically cut short in the early morning hours of April 23, 2016, in Hamden, Connecticut. Jonathan Cooper, a 25-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot while visiting his hometown from Brooklyn, New York, where he had been building a life for himself. He had returned to the New Haven area for a joyous weekend meant to be filled with family celebrations, including supporting his sister's recent achievement and attending a cousin's birthday.
