In the early morning hours of June 6, 2021, the life of 38-year-old Jonquay Terrell Morrison, a Black/African American male from Hamden, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. At approximately 3:15 a.m., Hamden police officers were already in the area of Dixwell Avenue investigating an unrelated shooting when they heard the sound of multiple gunshots nearby on Hamden Park Drive.
Rushing to the scene, they discovered Morrison lying in the road, having sustained numerous gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Morrison to Yale-New Haven Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. The Hamden Police Department subsequently launched a homicide investigation into the shooting death of the local resident.
Despite the ongoing investigation into his murder, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Jonquay Terrell Morrison.
