On April 16, 2006, Joseph Gray, a 57-year-old resident of Milo, Maine, was fatally shot in his home. Gray was a registered sex offender, having been convicted of sexually assaulting a child under 14. In the early hours of that day, his wife was awakened by their dogs barking and saw a man in a dark jacket outside their home.
