Makhi Mazon, a 17-year-old from Waterbury, Connecticut, was fatally shot on July 31, 2023. The incident occurred in the area of Newport Drive and Blue Trail. Mazon was seriously injured in the shooting, suffering a chest wound, and was hospitalized thereafter.

Makhi Mazon did not succumb to his injuries immediately. He was pronounced dead over a week later, on August 8, 2023.
