In the early hours of Sunday, August 11, 2024, the life of Julaquis Minnifield, a 43-year-old Black / African American male from Waterbury, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Walnut Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Minnifield suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Waterbury Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
