On the evening of October 30, 2020, a conversation between friends on a back porch in Waterbury, Connecticut, was tragically cut short by a single gunshot. Anthony Banks, a 38-year-old Black male from Middletown, was visiting a friend at a residence on Madison Street. Just before 10:30 p.m., as they talked, a shot rang out, and Banks collapsed to the floor.
